Making My Game Look AAA
While there is no official definition for what makes a game “AAA”, this designation has historically been reserved for multi-year game projects with industry-leading budgets ($80m+), sizable development teams, and significant gameplay depth.
Truth be told… My game doesn’t meet any of those criteria. But When we play those types of games there is a certain standard that we have, internally, for the look and feel of the game.
In that respect I believe we’ve hit the mark. We still have tons of room for improvements, but I am very pleased with the finished product.
Here are some of the settings I used for post processing
I Ended up with just three. Bloom, Color Grading, and I added a Vignette. as you can tell from the photo, I added all of the other available effects. I did some experiments and found what I liked.
I used the Vignette to add a little bit of a blue undertone. I feel like it gave my background a little bluer without changing the color of my ship like the temperature shift did.
In Future Iterations the other effects will probably come into play, but for now, I feel like I finally have a finished product.
